ND Chapter of The Wildlife Society Presents – Beyond Better Biology – Learn How to Tell Your Conservation Story More Effectively!

February 10-12, 2015 – Mandan, North Dakota

The 2016 Annual Conference will focus on improving the effectiveness of conservation communication.  The Conference will feature a number of unique speakers representing disciplines not normally considered by the conservation community. These speakers will help us to more effectively tell our conservation story.  In addition, preceding the Conference, there will be two professional development workshops and a free student seminar focused on storytelling for scientists. The workshops will be led by Dr. Randy Olson and held on Tuesday  (2/9/16), and the student seminar on Wednesday morning.  Details on the workshops and registration forms will be available in the fall newsletter. To learn more about the workshops and Conference, please contact Rick Nelson (701/355-8509) or Mike Olson (701/425-7952).

In preparation for this year’s Conference and workshops, the planning committee recommends the following:

  • Randy Olson, Don’t be such a Scientist – Talking Substance in the Age of Style
  • Randy Olson, Connection – Hollywood Storytelling Meets Critical Thinking
  • Randy Olson, Houston…We Have a Narrative (Due out in October)
  • Dr. Frank Lutz, Words That Work
